MEL

Project Overview

Marinus Energy Limited (MEL) is a Special Purpose Vehicle established to build; own and operate a 93MW(ISO) Power Plant at atuabo; near the Ghana Gas Processing plant.

The Atuabo Power Project comprises a 93MW (3X31 MW) gas turbine generator power plant and ancillary infrastructure. The first phase of the Project is a 31-MW GE LM2500 + G4 gas turbine generator located 900 metres from the Ghana National Gas Company Gas Processing plant (GPP) at Atuabo in the Western Region of Ghana.

The Project is of national importance in that it has a backward integration strategy to the Ghana Gas Processing facility at Atuabo. It also a significant beneficial developmental and environmental impact as it is designed to safely dispose of natural gas liquids (by-products from gas processing) by converting the waste into electricity through power generation. The electrical energy produced by the Project will be exported onto the national grid to help mitigate the current energy shortfall.
